How to Add a Physical Product on your Website
If you plan to sell physical goods, you will need to add a physical product to your online store. Adding a simple product is done in a few steps, which we will present here.
To get started, go to Store > Product Library > Products, then click Add Product.
To get started, go to Store > Product Library > Products, then click Add Product.
1. Start by filling in the basic information: title, description, price, visibility and type of execution. Add one or more images to show the product from different angles.
- Note: The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) prohibits misleading “old price comparisons.” If you are promoting discounted items, it is your responsibility to make sure you follow FTC guidelines. If you have questions about the FTC's guidelines, we recommend speaking to a legal expert.
2. Next, enter a SKU or Product ID if you have one (you can leave this field blank if you don't have one), then enter the weight of the item (note that the product weight must be indicated to real-time shipping ), and decide whether or not to charge sales tax. If your product is one-of-a-kind or available in limited quantities, you can check the "Track Inventory" box to indicate how many copies you have in stock. Inventory will automatically decrease after each sale, so you don't have to worry about having sold an item that is no longer in stock.
- If you sell customizable products, for example if they come in different colors and sizes, you can use Options and Modifiers to create options. Your customers will then be able to choose the version of the product they want when they add it to their cart.
3. Scroll down and click Choose Categories to place the product in one or more categories. This step is optional, you can skip to the next one if you don't use categories in your store.
4. Finally, enter the title and description that will be displayed in search engine results. Don't worry if you're not sure what to put here: we'll automatically use the product title and description you entered above if you leave these fields empty. You can also set a custom URL for your product page.
5. When you're done, click the Save button or Save and View to see how the product page will look on your website.
